In the March newsletter, I share stories about my experiences and mentoring program through the ABC Organization. In the April newsletter, I shared the first four tips for effective mentoring programs established. The following is a continuation of the newsletter and the last part of this series. Here are four tips to consider when developing a plan of advice:
Tip Six: Support for Mentors
Often times, the consultant came in the mentee situations they do not know how to handle. After the trainer professional advisers available to help and support is very helpful consultants feel supported in the counseling process.
Tip Seven: Training for Mentees
It is advisable to get training how to be guided and how to reverse the (traffic generation) mentoring.As their advisors, their advice can make assumptions about what the meaning of participation in the program and what advice they can expect. Some suggested that they might think they thought the counselor is to help get a promotion or to know exactly what to do. Many even know what questions to ask or how to ask questions. You are advised training on how to use the best teachers, remove the assessment and help them get the most from the plan.
Tip Eight: Create a Solid and Specific Program
When people understand what is expected, they are more likely to be involved. Register just to say that without saying a consultant for teachers, will leave people feeling confused and under involved Apt. On the flip side, when you set a specific plan, especially those that show both mentor and mentee can expect, they know what they choose to. To start, I recommend the following programs:
Consultant and suggested that you could hope to meet as a group quarterly date ___ ___ time. Two of these meetings is a half day of training (how to be a mentor / mentee how to)
Recommendations consultants and is expected to meet for one hour each month for one year
- Topics to cover in one-on-one mentoring
* Career planning
* Challenges that mentees may be encountering
* People who can useful business connections
* Strategies for gaining exposure/experience
Plan consultants will expire in X and at the end of the awards / recognition program.
Tip Nine: Appropriate Pairing
When a mentee supervisor can provide guidance and advice of some doubt, it is important that the counselor for this program is not mentee ¡|'s one supervisor. Instead, counselors need to be in a position higher than the mentee and the chain of command range, if possible. Advisers need to be in a position to give comments / suggestions, do Introductions and to support the mentee. There are a lot more freedom to share frustrations and opinions are not important when in the direct management consultant.
Tip Ten: Have Fun!
Counselor / mentee relationship can extend the work / employment negotiations. You can think of a plan to build other relationships such as lunch, golf, shopping, or anything that fits with both your interests. The goal is to create an environment in which mentors and mentees can strengthen their relationships outside of work or working system. People helping people as a great way to build a strong bond between the people is to create an opportunity to know all the people in a fun way.
