The tale of two radio deals

Two great stories on the radio this week is a DOJ-approved merger of XM Radio Sirius satellite companies to fall by 26 billion dollars + Clear Channel deal for private enterprise. The government wants that the satellite will unite the two companies could together monopoly because there are many entertainment audio equipment for consumer purchases. The audience is now with the company's total of about 18 million subscribers. The company has lost hundreds of millions of dollars over the years.

Clear Channel has a huge potential audience to 300 million in the U.S. and has several hundred of his radio. Has also produced hundreds of millions of dollars in positive cash flow for years. Bankers are nervous and do not want to part of their money to close the deal. Therefore, a cat and mouse game to get the money to the parties at the table.

Sirius chief Mel Karmazin appeared calm and confident to take later. Clear Channel executives to see if they are messy situation. Why look back?
